Mission & Goals

The physical therapy program educates graduates to practice autonomously, effectively, and with integrity in a multifaceted and culturally diverse healthcare environment. In concert with the mission of the college, the program in physical therapy facilitates a dynamic educational environment through interactive and collaborative learning experiences. Students graduate with the cognitive, psychomotor and professional skills that enable them to assume the diverse role of health care practitioner, including clinician, advocate, manager, teacher, learner, researcher, and leader. In addition, the program facilitates the development of compassionate practitioners through service to the academic and local communities.

Program Goals

  1. The program will provide quality education to students within a dynamic and interactive learning environment in order to produce well-rounded, autonomous, entry level physical therapists.
  2. The program will promote professionalism through role modeling, appropriate communication and service to the professional and local communities.
  3. The program will advance the profession of physical therapy through scholarly activities.
  4. The program will foster collegial relationships within the program, school, college, and clinical community.
