Financial Information

AIC offers both need- and merit-based financial aid to transfer students. Once accepted, a student should apply for need-based financial aid by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Access to the FAFSA is available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. AIC's code is 002114.

Transfer Scholarships

All full-time undergraduate students transferring from a two or four-year college or university, may be eligible for a transfer academic scholarship. The academic scholarships are renewal as long as you remain a full-time (12 or more credits/semester) undergraduate student. AIC recognizes and rewards academic achievement with the following awards, which are based on a student's earned cumulative grade point average and a minimum of 12 transferrable credits.

Transfer Scholarships (Effective Feb 2010)
Transfer Presidential Scholarship 3.5-4.0 GPA $9,000
Transfer Provost Scholarship 3.0-3.49 GPA $7,000
Transfer Opportunity Scholarship 2.7-2.9 GPA $5,000

Phi Theta Kappa Scholarships

PTK is the honors program at two-year colleges, with specific requirements for becoming a member. For AIC's PTK scholarship, you must meet the following criteria:

  • A letter from a PTK advisor verifying you are in good academic standing
  • An overall 3.3 or higher GPA
  • Minimum of 30 credits earned at the PTK college
Phi Theta Kappa Scholarships *
PTK Presidential Scholarship 3.5-4.0 GPA $10,000
PTK Provost Scholarship 3.3-3.49 GPA $8,000

* Please note that this scholarship increases the existing Transfer Scholarship - it is not in addition to the Transfer Scholarship. For example, a student meets the criteria for a Transfer Provost Scholarship of $7000 - then qualifies for a PTK Provost of $8000 - the financial aid package will show $8000, not both scholarships. Basically, the PTK scholarship increases the transfer scholarship to the PTK level.
