Commencement is a celebration of your academic and personal success. As you officially receive your degree, we wish you further success and growth.
This is your guide to Commencement Day and it is a serious formal event. Use it to learn where to go and what to do, and find answers to most of your questions.
Students in the Extended Campus Programs (XCP) who plan to participate in Commencement must R.S.V.P. with their NAME and HEIGHT to their student advisor on or before Monday, April 21, 2014:
Student Advisor for students whose last names begin with A-F: Azra Rahman: email@example.com
Student Advisor for students whose last names begin with G-M: Kaitlin Karetka: firstname.lastname@example.org
Student Advisor for students whose last names begin with N-Z: Rochelle Ryan: email@example.com
Off-campus students do not have to come to the main campus to pick up their regalia. Once you have RSVP'd, we will make arrangements to have your regalia brought to the Commencement ceremony, and it will be waiting for you that afternoon.
There will not be any steamers available at the Mass Mutual Center the afternoon of the ceremony. If you wish to get your gown in advance so you can hang it, you may pick it up at the AIC campus in Springfield (1000 State Street, Springfield, MA 01109). It will be available at the Print Shop located in the lower level of the Schwartz Campus Center between May 1 and May 15. (For the campus map, Click here.)
Regalia may be picked up Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m.-noon and 1:00-4:00 p.m. There will also be evening hours on May 5, 6, 7, and 8 until 6:30 p.m. XCP students may pick up regalia for their cohort members only with a signed note from each individual giving permission to pick it up on their behalf. Only the cap and gown will be available in advance. Your hood will need to be picked up in person the afternoon of the ceremony at the Mass Mutual Center.
Tickets are not necessary. Please invite all of your family and friends!
No cell phones allowed during ceremony.
Commencement regalia is free for our extended campus students who participate in Commencement, and they may keep their regalia. The College will not provide regalia to graduating students who choose not to participate in Commencement. Please do not call and ask the College to mail you your regalia. This will not be done.
The ceremony usually lasts 2.5 to 3 hours. Students must stay for the whole ceremony. Diplomas are given out after the ceremony has ended. Please be considerate of ALL graduating students and do not leave the ceremony before you have been dismissed.
If students have any questions about their graduation status, they should contact their student advisor as soon as possible.
Congratulations to all graduates of the AIC Extended Campus Programs! We wish you all the best for a very successful future.
