- Campus Life
This program, started in 1990, is designed to provide one-to-one teaching using research-based strategies that may not be available to the student's regular school program. The Center serves public school children throughout the Pioneer Valley and can provide interventions in most academis skills, but particularly in the area of literacy development. Some tutoring is provided at the Curtis Blake Center on the campus of American International College, but most takes place in the child's own school. Using the specialized expertise of our staff within the child's own school makes it possible to maintain contact with the student's teachers and integrate our interventions with the ongoing demands of the curriculum.
Our services are tailored to the individual strengths and weaknesses of the student and tutors are trained to use those techniques that are well researched and proven to be effective; for example, the Lindamood Phoneme Sequencing Program, Benchmark and Visualizing and Verbalizing. Services are provided under contract to the child's public school as part of their IEP or privately. Information on current rates is available on request.
"The quality of your services can only be described as outstanding! His reading skills have improved and are now impressive to those around him; but most importantly, to himself."

Prior to the start of tutoring. the following preliminary information is requested: work samples, student records and the student's Individual Education Program (IEP), if applicable. Typically, the first few sessions will involve both diagnostic and tutorial interventions to assure that the services we can provide are appropriate to the student's needs.
Throughout the tutoring program, regular contact is maintained with parents and teachers to help insure a focus onimproving the student's functioning in his or her current curriculum. Regular written reports are also provided to school and parents to document a student's progress.
