Active Directory or Same Sign On (SSO)

Active Directory is a College wide authentication directory that supports logging into enterprise systems along with providing mechanisms for centralized desktop management. Currently at AIC, our systems all retained their own contact and login information. All new systems will authenticate to one central authentication directory (Active Directory). The purpose of our Active Directory Project is to migrate as many systems to login using the central authentication directory (Active Directory). Currently your CAMS username and password populate our Active Directory. In the future Jenzabar will populate our Active Directory.

This will provide the following benefits:

  • Single user name and password for systems
  • Reduce confusion and support calls through standardization
  • Provide foundation for future services:
    • Shift to Jenzabar
    • Email replacement
    • Improve workstation security
    • Central storage for department document sharing
    • Ability to secure our wireless network (coming)
