Important Notice about Summer Courses
The Blackboard environment where summer courses are available will be going offline on October 1st. Courses in this system will be copied into AIC's new instance of Blackboard in batches commencing on September 27th and concluding on October 4th. Contact Jeremy Anderson, Manager of Academic Computing, with any questions.
Blackboard is AIC's learning management system (LMS). All of the College's online courses have a Blackboard shell, while face-to-face courses can be supplemented with a shell at an instructor’s request. Faculty can use Blackboard to post syllabi, distribute readings, send emails and announcements, collect assignments, administer tests, and create interactive exercises.
If you are interested in taking an online course at AIC, please click here to read more about our online courses and programs.
Visit AIC's Blackboard Documentation page for step-by-step instructions for many of the most common tasks in Blackboard. Please contact Academic Computing at 413-205-3228 with any additional questions or requests.
Please contact the Help Desk at 413-205-3402 or complete a HelpDesk ticket if you are having trouble getting in, have additional questions or requests.
All faculty and students will log into Blackboard using their CAMS / Active Directory username and password. Users who have forgotten their login information can visit the CAMS portal to reset their password or they can contact the Help Desk (413-205-3402) for direct assistance.
Problem Logging into Blackboard?
There are some accounts that fail logging into in Blackboard until a NEW password is set in CAMS. We are investigating this issue. The quickest solution is to reset your password using the CAMS portal and it will automatically reset the Active Directory password. Then, log into Blackboard with the NEW password. This has solved the problems with those accounts.Click here for directions
Blackboard allows you to send email to instructors and students in your courses without launching an external email client, such as FirstClass, Gmail or Yahoo. Emails sent via Blackboard will be sent from your AIC FirstClass email account and any emails from your instructor or other students will be received in your AIC FirstClass email account. Therefore, students should check their AIC FirstClass email account regularly.
Online courses and enhanced face-to-face course shells should be available in Blackboard by the end of the first day of class and will be listed under the My Courses section upon logging in. To open a course, click on its title in the My Courses module or tab. If a course is not listed in My Courses students should contact their instructor(s) directly to ask him or her to make it available.
