Nurse Mentor

JOB DESCRIPTION:

American International College is a private, coeducational institution of higher education located on a 52 acre campus in Springfield, Massachusetts. Founded in 1885, the College has 3,500 graduate and undergraduate students. The College offers a variety of undergraduate and graduate programs through the School of Arts, Education and Sciences, Business Administration, Health Sciences and Continuing Education. In addition at the graduate level, AIC offers doctoral programs in Education and Physical Therapy. Under the direction of the Director for the Center of Academic Success, the Nursing Mentor will assist nursing students with studying and test taking skills related to nursing courses and preparation for the national licensure exam. Additional responsibilities will include: assist nursing students with one-to-one reviews and group study sessions; assist nursing students to understand the instructor/course objectives, and clarify information; reinforce test taking skills in preparation for nursing course exams and NCLEX-RN exam; and assist students to develop study and time management skills in preparation for nursing course exams and NCLEX-RN.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The qualified candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree of Nursing; hold a current license in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in Massachusetts, or be eligible to obtain a Massachusetts Registered Nurse license; and strong interpersonal skills and positive energy regarding professional education.

WORK HOURS/SCHEDULE:

The Nursing Mentor is a part time, non-exempt position. This is a non-benefit eligible position. Hours will vary per week, but limited to 29 hours per week with flexibility to needs of the department.
