AIC student shows his talent on national television

When Eric Koloski was playing with his yo-yo as a young boy, he probably never dreamed he would be doing it in front of a national television audience. But now, 10 years later, the American International College student is doing just that. Koloski has made it to the next round of America's Got Talent. The AIC sophomore is headed to Las Vegas for a talent show that features singers, dancers, magicians, comedians and other performers of all ages competing for the top prize of $1million.

The Easthampton resident appeared on the NBC show last night and impressed the judges. All three voted to send Koloski on to the next round in Las Vegas.

Koloski is no stranger to competition, having won the 7th annual National Yo-Yo Contest in Chico, Ca., in 2008. He beat out 15 other contestants, including the reigning world champion, finishing with a 93.5 score.

The AIC physical therapy major earned a seeded spot into the Championship 1A finals by winning one of the nine regional yo-yo contests authorized by the National Yo-Yo League. Championship finals consist of a 3-minute freestyle routine made up of tricks of the players choice. 1A division players use one long-spin yo-yo to perform intricate string trick manipulations of both string and yo-yo.
