Students at American International College will hold a Kwanzaa celebration on Thursday, December 6 at 6:00 p.m. in the Campus Center Auditorium. Sponsored by P.R.I.D.E. (Persons Ready in Defense of Ebony), the celebration will feature music poetry and a candle-lighting ceremony.

Kwanzaa was created to introduce and reinforce seven basic values of African culture which contribute to building and reinforcing family, community and culture among African American people, as well as Africans throughout the world African community. The seven principles include unity, self-determination, collective work and responsibility, cooperative economics, purpose, creativity and faith.
