After spending five years in the classroom and in clinical settings, Occupational Therapy students at American International College in Springfield, Mass., have finished their journey and were recognized an the annual Pinning Ceremony.
The pinning ceremony featured a presentation by the faculty, a slide show and remarks from keynote speaker Jeanne Morin, associate professor of occupational therapy.
"You've come a very long way since those days a few short years ago and now you are taking your last steps by graduating and taking the NBCOT examination to officially become OTs.," Morin told the students.
"You are the new OTs," she said. "As you have already found out in your fieldwork experiences, you have some challenges ahead of you in this exciting profession of occupational therapy. There are challenges of making OT client centered and occupation based. There is also the challenge of making yourself a tool in therapeutic intervention," Morin said.
