For the first time, WNPR's signature talk shows, Where We Live and The Colin McEnroe Show will broadcast live from Springfield, MA on Thursday July 26. The shows will be celebrating the station's new relationship with American International College and its radio station WAIC (91.9 FM).
The broadcasts from the historic Bing Arts Center will feature conversation with Springfield residents and newsmakers about issues affecting the city and region. A key focus will be the connection between Springfield and the Greater Hartford area through economic cooperation and rail expansion. We'll also be talking about ongoing recovery from last year's tornados, and what Western Mass. can learn from Connecticut's experience with casino gambling.

"The Springfield to New Haven commuter line and Bradley International Airport are the obvious links between our home city of Hartford and Springfield," said John Dankosky, News Director of WNPR and host of Where We Live. "We share many of the same stories of urban revitalization and untapped potential. We can't wait to learn more about the people of Springfield," he said.
In a partnership that began in November 2011, WNPR - Connecticut Public Radio broadcasts its full-day schedule on WAIC, including Where We Live at 9 a.m. and The Colin McEnroe Show at 1 p.m. WNPR serves all of Connecticut, along with parts of Rhode Island and Long Island, with its award-winning news and information programming.
