MTEL Study Sessions -
Your Key to Success
Part I Communication and Literacy
You are invited to sign up for AIC Study Sessions to prepare you for the MTEL. All Mass. Licensure candiates are required to pass the Communication and Literacy sections of the MTEL for formal acceptance into the AIC education programs and for Initial licensure as an educator.
- Pre-test, sample exams
- Pre-test written feedback
- Review of exam format and testing conditions
- Review of grammar, punctuation and writing mechanics
- Review of writing, reading and test-taking strategies
- Sample reading and writing questions
- Access to the AIC Writing Center Services
There are generally four evening sessions, held from 6:30 to 9:00 PM in the AIC Health Science Complex Building, Room 112 (at the corner of Homer and State Streets). The session dates are posted four weeks prior to each MTEL administration. Call the Psychology and Education Department at 413-205-3338 to find specific dates and request a brochure.
What is the cost?For AIC students and alums
- $100.00 - all four sessions
- $50.00 - two sessions (reading OR writing only)
- $150.00 - all four sessions
- $75.00 - two sessions (reading OR writing only)
Register and payment must be made prior to the first day of the sessions. Payment can be made in person, by mail or by telephone (413-205-3338). Brochures and registration forms are available in the Education Office in the Lower Level of the Dining Commons Building.
