An Exhibition of Student Art
Aspiring artists display their work in the Annual Student Art Show. The exhibit will include the work of students in the Aesthetic Experience of Contemporary Arts, Appreciation of Art Through Painting and Basic Photography courses at AIC. Drawings, paintings, collages and traditional and digitally enhanced photographs will be exhibited. Opening reception, March 6, 5:30-7:00 p.m.

Academic Artists Association Annual Exhibit
The 57th annual exhibit of the Academic Artists Association is on campus for the first time. Begun in 1949 by a small group of Springfield artists, the association has since grown to over 300 members nationwide. The annual exhibit presents approximately 100 submitted works that promote and encourage the growth of contemporary realism in art. A printed catalogue of the selected works is available to visitors. Opening reception, April 15, 2007 from 1:00p.m. to 4:00p.m. with presentation of awards at 3:00p.m. Free and open to the public.

Amherst Ballet
A unique collaboration between local dance artists and envronmental educators, this original performance incorporates contemporary choreography, authentic costuming and a unique musical score to promote awareness of the environment. The rhythms of life, the harmony of the ecosystems, and the lives of indigenous peoples are portrayed in these two glimpses of life: The Arctic and The Rainforest. Paired with an educational presentation that offers an honest look at the challenges facing these regions, the performance promises to provide audiences of all ages with a vibrant and enlightening treat for the senses.
Free and open to the public.
