SPRINGFIELD--Barbara Z. Benoit of Chicopee has been named director of graduate admissions at American International College. The appointment was announced recently by Peter J. Miller, vice president for admission services.
Benoit, who had been serving as director of alumni and donor relations, will work collaboratively within the admissions office and contribute to the institutional goal of increased overall enrollment. She will develop and implement strategies that focus specifically on strengthening enrollment in the college's graduate programs.
Benoit said she is excited about her new role at the college. "A graduate education is increasingly necessary and valuable in our society. As a graduate alum (MBA 2005) I recognize and appreciate the value of an advanced degree and what AIC has to offer. I look forward to working with the college's deans, directors, and other college personnel to develop and market the various graduate programs and to continue to help our students transform their lives.
As director of graduate admissions, I will continue to serve as an ambassador for the college, similar to my role in the alumni office; however, this time by trumpeting our advance degree programs," she said.
Benoit earned a bachelor's degree from Boston College and a master's degree from AIC.
Prior to coming to AIC, Benoit served as vice president and community bank manager for Sovereign Bank in Chicopee, Wethersfield, Conn., and Vernon, Conn.
