NCAA Championship Committee visits AIC

SPRINGFIELD--Members of the NCAA Championship committee visited AIC on Thursday, Jan. 31, to discuss the Elite 8 Championships, which will be held at the MassMutual Center in Springfield, Massachusetts.
With AIC being the host institution for the second year in a row, the day started with a luncheon on campus to kickoff the visit. Every year the NCAA assigns new members to the championship committee; this year, the committee has a new director who is not familiar with the tournament or the local Springfield area. The luncheon was an effort to familiarize the championship committee members with the venue where the games will be played, meet the local organizing committee they would be working with and confirm that everything was going according to schedule.
The tournament dates are March 26, 27 and 29.
