Professor Sprinthall publishes new textbook

SPRINGFIELD--The latest textbook by Longmeadow resident Richard C. Sprinthall is ready to hit the bookstores. "SPSS from A to Z: A Brief Step by Step Manual," will be available in April.

Sprinthall is professor of psychology emeritus at American International College.

His last textbook, the 8th edition of "Basic Statistical Analysis," is currently used by more than 300 colleges and universities around the country.

The new book is a brief manual that covers virtually everything a first year statistics student will have to face. It also includes additional sophisticated tests for students in advanced statistics or research methods courses.

SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) is a data management and analysis software that allows users to generate solid, decision-making results by performing statistical analysis.

Sprinthall joined the AIC faculty in 1956. He received his bachelor's degree from Brown University, and earned his master’s and doctoral degrees from Boston University.

The new book, published by Allyn & Bacon, will be available in paperback for $26.67
