SPRINGFIELD-- AIC was well represented as more than 300 people participated in the first ever YMCA Fit Fair on Saturday, March 22 at the Greater Springfield YMCA on Chestnut St.
It was a day of information and education as tables staffed by health, education and fitness experts to assist the the young and not so young who wanted to put a plan in place to become healthier, not only in body but mind, too.
Peter Miller, vice president of admission services was on hand to explain the benefits of going back to college and talk about the opportunities available at AIC.
More than 50 vendors participated in the free event.
"January is usually when people create their own resolutions to become healthier in the new year. And now, some 90 days later, is when they generally get off track," said Fit Fair organizer Diana L. Giraud, exercise and event coordinator at the Springfield YMCA.
There was plenty of entertainment as well, including dancers, singers, musicians and even a fashion show.
