The admission process at American International College is a personalized one. While students applying for admission as freshmen are encouraged to apply early in their senior year of high school, because we adhere to a rolling admission policy, we typically accept applications throughout the year. Students will usually receive an admission decision within a few weeks of their application being complete.
Similarly, students applying for transfer admission are urged to complete their application within 30 days of the beginning of the semester for which they intend to enroll. Transfer applicants will also usually receive an admission decision within a few weeks of their application being complete.
Basis of the Decision
Students who have demonstrated that they have the ability to be successful at the College will be offered admission. The decision will be based on a thorough assessment of all credentials submitted. Among the most important considerations are the applicant's academic record including, for freshmen, courses completed, grades earned and class rank. For transfers, the overall earned grade point average is the single most important factor considered.
Additional credentials considered include standardized test scores (for freshmen applicants), letters of recommendation and extra-curricular involvement. Because the admission process is individualized, the weight of each of these credentials may vary. Again, it is our policy to admit those students who we believe have the ability to be academically successful at AIC.
