State Of The Art
These are the only words to describe our new Communication Center. The facility, which occupies most of the bottom floor of Shea Library, was designed so Communication students learn on the same equipment they will find in the Media workplace. Our digital TV studio is already on line and other components are being introduced each year.
DVC Production Studio
Completed in August of 1998, our DVC Television studio uses Panasonic Digital cameras, switchers and recorders for the best picture quality available. Students can tape and edit productions using hundreds of on-line effects. A huge cyclorama and news set designed by International Artist Alvin Paige are the center of the studio.
Digital Editing
We have built a digital editing suite so students can produce broadcast quality productions.
Radio
We've introduced a new course sequence in broadcasting. Students practice in our fully digital PC driven radio station. WAIC FM 91.9 gives our students practical experience in all phases of radio in our modern, professionally run radio facility.
