Education

Welcome to the AIC Undergraduate Education Programs

At American International College we enjoy a proud tradition of preparing great numbers of successful, long-serving teachers in our region and beyond. Our state approved programs are designed to provide a strong knowledge base for teaching and to develop the skills you need to carry out effective instruction in your classroom. Fieldwork experiences are integrated into your coursework so that you can begin observing and working with students in classrooms as you progress through your program.

You will work with an education faculty and an advisor who are well experienced in the workings of the classroom. All faculty in the education program have enjoyed long careers in education. They began as classroom teachers in early childhood, elementary, special education, middle school or high school and stay closely linked with the the changes and practices in today's classrooms.

At AIC, you will find small, supportive classes where peers share ideas and strategies for teaching and learning. To help you develop the focus and commitment needed by today's educators, the education programs provide careful guidance to help you with, course selection, fieldwork and student teaching placements, and licensing requirements.

There are study sessions on campus to help prepare you for the Massachusetts Test for Educator Licensure (MTEL). Like so many successful teachers who began their careers at AIC, you will leave as a professional educator, ready to make all the difference for students in your own classroom.
