Pre-Medicine

Students interested in pre-professional programs in the health sciences such as Pre-Dental, Pre-Medical, Pre-Optometry, Pre-Osteopathy, Pre-Podiatry, or Pre-Veterinary should consult with the college's pre-medical advisor, Dr. Paul C. Desmarais, so that they may satisfy the entrance requirements.

These programs are not "majors" in themselves.  Students will need to choose a major in an appropriate field, such as biology, chemistry, or biochemistry.  Regardless of which major is chosen, first-year students are strongly advised to take Chemistry 211 and 212 (with labs) as well as Mathematics courses chosen in accordance with their degree needs and backgrounds.  Students planning careers in medicine are advised also to take Biology 206 (with lab) in their first year.
