What is Marketing?
Marketing is how all businesses and
organizations go about finding, creating, and keeping customers. Simply,
marketing is providing your customers with something they want (product,
service, etc) in exchange for something the organization wants from them (money,
volunteers, votes, etc).
The best businesses are skilled at finding, communicating with, and understanding their customers. This enables them to create products with greater value to their customers than their competitors. This is what makes them winners in a highly competitive global marketplace.

There are four major components to your program of study:
Learning the latest marketing concepts and practices. You are exposed to the same key concepts used in the real-world today, from e-commerce to CRM (customer relationship management). As teaching professors who also practice marketing on a regular basis, you learn the "right stuff" to get yourself ahead of the rest in today’s competitive business environment.
Interactive and experiential learning inside and outside the classroom. Marketing majors participate in their learning experience.

- group and class projects with local businesses and service organizations
- seminars with guest speakers from industry
- competing in entrepreneurial contests and events for awards, cash grants and prizes, and financial funding
