1. Is the A.I.C. Physical Therapy Program accredited?
Yes. Our program is fully accredited by C.A.P.T.E.
2. Are transfer students accepted?
About 50% of undergraduate physical therapy students are transfer students. Due to the nature of the curriculum at the graduate level, it is not possible to transfer graduate course credit.
3. What courses will I be allowed to transfer?
Generally, any course with a grade of C or better. Specific science and math courses that are part of the undergraduate physical therapy curriculum must have a grade of B- or better. An evaluation of your transfer credits will be completed in order to determine where you will enter into the program.
4. Do you accept students directly into the graduate program?
Yes we do. Students with a bachelors degree in any field may apply directly to the Graduate Physical Therapy Program. Students must have completed the prerequisite math and science courses of the undergraduate curriculum. In many cases, students with a bachelors degree enroll for a year of undergraduate courses to complete these prerequisites.
5. Is financial aid available?
Yes; many students are receiving financial aid. For information on what you may qualify for, contact the Financial Aid Office.
6. Can I begin in the spring semester?
You may for undergraduate courses as is the case for many students. However, this is not possible in the graduate phase of the program.
7.What are the class sizes?
Undergraduate courses usually have fewer than 25 student in any one class or section. The total number of undergraduate students in a class (freshman, sophomore, junior) varies and averages about 30. The graduate class size averages about 40 students who are divided into two sections for course scheduling.

Our passage rate is well above the national average of 80% for first time takers.

A.I.C. maintains its own anatomical laboratory on site within the Health Sciences Complex.
10. What access do A.I.C. students have to computers?
Computers are available to students in the library and in two computer rooms on campus, one in the Health Sciences Complex.
11. Where do A.I.C. students do their clinical internships?
Clinical internships are done nationwide. Students have gone to Hawaii and to Bermuda for internships.
12. Are there any opportunities for students to engage in research?
Absolutely. All students are required to complete a research project. In addition, you may participate in ongoing faculty directed research at AIC and in the community.
13. What is done for students who are not able to complete the physical therapy program?
Unfortunately, not every student is able to meet the academic requirements necessary to enter the graduate level of our program. We work closely with students to avoid this outcome but there does come a time when a students may have to seek an alternative career. The AIC faculty recognizes every such student is an individual with dignity, and will receive our continued respect. We continue to work with students leaving physical therapy to identify another field of study and interest and do all we can to help them achieve a successful Bachelors degree in a field they will find rewarding. Of course it is our responsibility to maintain high academic standards. Success is not an award, it is earned by every student through hard work and perseverance.
