The American International College Physical Therapy curriculum is based on the early understanding of normality as it relates to the functionally independent individual across the life span. This foundational concept expands to develop the recognition, interpretation and synthesis of atypical and pathological conditions of disablement. The student formulates physical therapy diagnoses and comprehensive plans of care. The curriculum embraces the improvement of clinical skill sets that encompass all elements of physical therapy patient management leading to optimal well-being and function. Performance and professional outcomes guide the student to become an intellectually and socially reflective entry-level physical therapist. The conceptual model culminates in the student functioning as a compassionate, skillful, and autonomous practitioner who is committed to life long learning.
