Requirements
Graduate degree programs have a minimum requirement of 30 credits and a ten-year time limit for completion. All course work at the graduate level must be B minus or better to receive credit. A candidate must also have an overall cumulative grade point average of 3.0 to be eligible to receive a degree or to engage in any field-based practicum or internship such as student teaching. Admission to the graduate degree program is based upon the following:
- The candidate must be a graduate of an accredited four-year college to be considered for the Master's level program. Candidates for the Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study must possess a Master?s degree in education from an accredited institution.
- Cumulative grade point average of 2.67 in undergraduate course work.
- Successful completion of the Communication and Literacy portion of the Massachusetts Tests for Educator Licensure. Up to 9 graduate credits may be taken prior to formal program acceptance.
- An interview to be scheduled with the Director of the program once all materials, including references, are received.
- Other requirements indicated in each program.
