Dexter Counseling Center

Dr. Rose Andrejczyk, a licensed psychologist, offers psychological services free of charge to students who are currently enrolled at AIC. Get help with individual counseling; group counseling; couple counseling; and career assessment.

Group / Classroom educational programs are also available on special interest topics such as Test or Public Speaking Anxiety Management, Study Skill Enhancement and Conflict Resolution.


Students may call 205-3248 or come in to the center to schedule an appointment. Students are asked to fill out a brief registration sheet just prior to meeting with a counselor to discuss their concerns.

If you feel a particular situation is an emergency, call the counseling center immediately. When the emergency situation develops outside of the counseling center hours, call the appropriate dean or supervisor.


The Dexter Counseling Center adheres to guidelines of the American Psychological Association and the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts regarding confidentiality. The identity of those using the services of the center as well as all personally identifiable disclosures made to center staff will not be shared with parties outside the center unless permission to do otherwise is given by the student in written form. Exceptions to thispolicy include cases in which physical danger to oneself, or others is imminent or there is a reason to believe that physical/sexual/emotional abuse of children, elders or developmentally delayed individuals is currently taking place.

Career Choice Services

The Counseling Center helps AIC students choose a major or decide upon a career. The following questionnaires help to zero in on students' strengths and vocational interests. They include:

  • Campbell Interest and Skills Survey
  • Keirsey Temperament Sorter
  • Career Development Inventory

After an initial meeting with a counselor, students may decide to use these tools. The results are scored and then discussed with the student. Students are also often encouraged to visit AIC's Career Center to learn more about specific careers consistent with test results.
