Summer Orientation – June 24 & 25, June 27 & 28, July 29 & 30, 2013
- 60% of the incoming freshman class is expected to participate
- Summer Orientation 2013 will host its first overnight parent session June 24 & 25
- Students will be introduced to the Financial Literacy Program that will be implemented in academic year 2013-2014
- The summer reading for 2013 is The Other Wes More: One Name, Two Fates
Tutoring Program & Writing Center
- Programs received international certification through the College Reading and Language Association (CRLA)
- The Director of the Writing Center and several faculty members attended Fourth International Writing and Critical Thinking Conference: New Vistas: WAC/WID Intersections in the 21st Century, held in November 2012 at Quinnipiac
- Two Tutors from the Tutoring program presented at the New England Peer Tutoring Association (NEPTA) in April
Developmental Education
- 6 sections of Developmental Writing and 4 sections of Developmental Math were offered in 2012-2013
- Software to assist Nursing Students with dosage calculations was purchased
- A study hall for freshmen football players was implemented
- A learning lab is in development
Career Development
- 7 new career development workshops were held
- An interactive computer system will be installed outside of the Career Services office to engage students in upcoming events, internships, and job opportunities
