Why Major in Digital Media Production at AIC?

The Digital Media Production program at American International College prepares students for careers in broadcasting, film, television, and digital media by emphasizing hands-on learning and professional readiness. The program is designed to help students develop strong tactical skills while gaining experience with industry-standard tools and production environments.

Students in the program will learn to recognize and apply a variety of digital media creation methods and use modern digital tools to meet the demands of evolving media careers. They will also develop strong professional communication skills specifically curated towards a production environment. Students can expect to grow familiar with cutting-edge digital tools to meet twenty-first century career expectations.

A defining feature of the program is its commitment to real-world experience. Students participate in a required internship. These experiences allow students to build a professional portfolio of work to aid in a job search outside of graduation. By working alongside professionals, students gain insight into the expectations and workflow of modern media environments, strengthening their transition from college to career. Graduates leave the program ready to pursue opportunities across traditional and emerging media platforms, including television stations, radio stations, film production companies, and news stations.
