Why Major in International Business at AIC?

The global economy is ever-changing and technology has created an interconnected world like never before. The challenges of present-day business dealings require unique approach: a diverse and multinational perspective. 

The Bachelor of Business Administration (BSBA) in International Business at American International offers a solid foundation in international business principles and concepts that will prepare them for leadership positions in a dynamic and challenging global world. Students will acquire the professional and personal skills to not only succeed in their career but also to think creatively, critically, and ethically. Learn the importance of working effectively with team members and develop social awareness and individual responsibility to actively participate in society.

What to Expect

  • A global perspective: Build on a foundational business education with a global lens, all while learning alongside students from around the world.
  • Make better decisions: Learn to evaluate your ideas at both the organizational and market levels before presenting them effectively to different audiences.
  • Internships: Observe business from the inside before you present insights from your placement at the College of Business, Arts, and Sciences’ Internship Symposium, held every semester.
  • Jump-start your graduate education: Eligible seniors can take one to two graduate-level courses at the undergraduate rate. As you begin a master’s program at AIC, your motivation will pay off in terms of time and cost savings.
  • International Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE) Accreditation: This rigorous, outcomes-based evaluation examines how AIC’s BSBA programs prepare students for business careers. Review the latest report.

Program Details

The bachelor’s in International Business program produces global-minded professionals who take on roles as both leaders and global citizens.

  • Students will be able to apply the basic concepts and theories of business.
  • Students will be able to develop a corporate strategy to take their business international.
  • Students will be able to identify the international objectives for a firm.
  • Students will be able to analyze the environmental forces to determine the best country to enter.
  • Students will be able to select the best business model for entering the appropriate country.
  • Students will have the knowledge and skill to operate a firm successfully in a foreign country on a day to day basis.

Undergraduate Tuition and Costs

AIC’s transfer partnerships with Holyoke Community College (HCC) and Springfield Technical Community College (STCC) provide an uninterrupted path from community college to our bachelor’s in General Business program, as well as a $4,000 per year joint admissions scholarship.

  • Pitch competitions: Brainstorm a business solution against the clock with other BSBA students for the Harold Grinspoon Charitable Foundation’s Entrepreneurship Initiative. At this annual pitch competition, you’ll engage your strategy skills against teams from area schools in exchange for prize money.
