Move-In Day and New Student Orientation
Welcome to AIC, Yellow Jacket!
New residential students (including transfer students) should plan to move into their Residence Halls on Thursday, August 27th between 9:00 am and 11:00 am.
New students returning to campus on the morning of August 27th will need to first report to the Griswold Theatre Lobby in the Karen Sprague Cultural Arts Center to finalize any paperwork due to the College and pick up their student ID.
New Student Orientation begins at 12:00pm on Thursday, August 27th, so it is important that students plan their arrival accordingly, and allow for enough time to arrive at orientation.
When arriving at the Griswold Lobby, please park in the “I” Lot on the corner of Maynard and State Street and enter through the Griswold Lobby.
Once you receive your student ID, you’ll be cleared to move into your prospective Residence Hall. For full Move-In Day Logistics, visit the AIC Portal.
New Student Orientation
All first-year students should plan on attending the College’s New Student Orientation, which will begin at 12:00pm on Thursday, August 27th. New Student Orientation is a mandatory event that is designed to engage students with the AIC community, while preparing them for a successful educational journey.
Students are highly encouraged to attend as many orientation sessions as possible. For an outline of events and sessions for move-in weekend, please look below at the drop-down menus for each day!

11:30 AM – Welcome event in Griswold Theater
12:15 PM – Lunch in Dining Commons
1:30 PM – Get to know your group in sessions led by Orientation Leaders
2:30 PM – Amazing Race; a campus-wide scavenger hunt!
4:45 PM – Hall meetings led by residence hall staff
5:30 PM – Dinner in the Dining Commons
7:00 PM – Men’s Soccer Game!
8:45 AM – Breakfast in the Dining Hall
9:45 AM – Various small group information sessions
12:00 PM – Lunch in the Dining Commons
1:00 PM – Student Resource Sessions
2:00 PM – Library and IT session, set up your account and login to campus systems
3:30 PM – Financial Responsibility session
5:00 PM – Dinner at the Dining Commons
6:00 PM – Capture the Flag with Orientation Leaders
7:00 PM – Women’s Soccer Game
9:00 PM – Bingo with prizes in the Griswold Lobby!
8:45 AM – Breakfast
9:45 AM – Title IX sessions
10:30 AM – Bystander Intervention
12:30 PM – Welcome BBQ in the Athletics Parking Lot
1:00 PM – Yellow Jacket Football Game
3:30 PM – Stinger Party in the Stinger Pub
5:00 Pm – Dinner in the Dining Commons
8:00 PM – Glow-in-the-dark event on the Main Quad!
