How to Apply for Financial Aid

It all starts with the FAFSA.

We try to make the process of applying for financial aid easy; in fact, it’s only one application with three easy steps: the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Once you are admitted to the college, and we have reviewed your FAFSA, you will receive your financial aid package! The earlier you apply, the earlier we can get your package out to you so that you can make your decision. We encourage you to apply early, and reach out to us anytime you need help.

Some schools and states have limited funds so applying ASAP is key!

It’s a big deal – but it’s also quick and painless. The FAFSA will use your 2023 tax info, and you can even complete it on your smartphone or tablet using the myStudentAid mobile app.

Online visit studentaid.gov to start the process and use 002114 for AIC’s school code.

Submit your FAFSA

It’s easy as one,-two, three!

Apply for your FSA User ID

Students and parents of dependent undergraduates must apply for an FSA User ID. This is a secure user ID code that you use to ‘sign’ federal financial aid items online (such as the FAFSA, or student loan documents).

Fill out the FAFSA

Complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) as soon as possible, and file online at https://studentaid.gov/. AIC’s school code for the FAFSA is 002114.

Once your FAFSA is processed by the US Department of Education, the results will be sent electronically to AIC’s Financial Aid Office. Be sure to review your Student Aid Report (SAR) for accuracy.

If the FAFSA does not accurately represent your financial situation, you are welcome to provide additional written information to the office. All information you provide is held in strict confidence.

We encourage students to file the FAFSA as soon as possible so we have sufficient time to evaluate eligibility for federal, state and college aid options. Evaluation of late applications will continue, with awards being made on a funds-available basis right up through the start of the semester.

Unlock your aid package

AIC will issue a financial aid package after a review of your FAFSA. Aid packages may include grants, loans, and work-study, in addition to other aid, such as Merit Scholarships.
