Continuous Enrollment
Continuous Enrollment is designated primarily for graduate students who have completed all required coursework and are working on a dissertation, thesis, clinical placement, internship, externship, capstone, practicum, or field-based research.
Students enrolled in Continuous Enrollment (AIC9999 or AIC9998) are charged a $200 fee per term.
- The fee is charged once per term and is non-refundable.
- Payment is required before the end of the add/drop period.
- Failure to enroll in Continuous Enrollment may result in administrative withdrawal from the College.
- Students must maintain Continuous Enrollment each required term until their degree is conferred.
- Continuous Enrollment carries no academic credit, is not graded, and is not eligible for financial aid.
- Students in Continuous Enrollment are not eligible for a Leave of Absence.
- Students who voluntarily withdraw while in Continuous Enrollment may receive a failing grade for applicable coursework and may face dismissal from their program.
Student Health Insurance
The Commonwealth of Massachusetts requires eligible full-time and three-quarter-time students attending institutions of higher education to maintain qualifying health insurance coverage.
Students who meet the eligibility requirements are automatically enrolled in the American International College Student Health Insurance Plan.
Students with comparable coverage may waive the College plan during the add/drop period of their initial term. Coverage runs annually from August 1 through July 31. Insurance rates are determined each year and are subject to change.

Withdrawal from the College
Students who choose to leave American International College for any reason other than graduation must officially withdraw from the College.
Students who withdraw before the end of the add/drop period receive a 100% reversal of tuition, fees, residence hall charges, and meal plan charges. Undergraduate students withdrawing during the add/drop period are subject to a $750 withdrawal fee.
After the add/drop period, refunds are calculated according to the applicable academic calendar using the College’s published withdrawal refund schedules.

The Comprehensive Fee, Explained
Effective for all terms beginning May 1, 2023, or later.
The Comprehensive Fee supports a variety of services that enhance the student experience both inside and outside the classroom. These services include:
- Academic support through the NEST Center*
- The Saremi Center for Career Development
- Technology resources and IT Help Desk support
- Online and remote learning platforms
- Dexter Health and Counseling Services
- Graduation and commencement services
- The James Shea Memorial Library, including online journals and databases
- Campus events and student activities
- Admission to regular season AIC Athletics home events
*REACH services are not included in the Comprehensive Fee.
Why a Comprehensive Fee?
The Comprehensive Fee provides a predictable cost structure by combining many commonly used student services into a single fee. This approach helps reduce unexpected charges and makes educational expenses easier to understand when planning for college.
