Residence Halls

Each residence hall is designed to help you become part of the AIC community. First- and second-year students typically live in our three traditional residence halls on the main campus— Hines Hall, Pouch Hall and Magna Hall. Upperclassmen have the option of moving to the Edgewood Gardens Campus (close to our athletic fields) to live in the Edgewood Complex or Acorn Heights.

Rooms include:

Residence halls are equipped with:

  • Study areas
  • Parking (with paid permit)
  • 24-hour access system security from the main entrance, which is also monitored by cameras
  • 24/7 on-call campus police protection

Main campus residence halls

Hines Hall

Hines Hall was named in honor of Admiral John F. Hines, who served the college as president from 1953-1969. This eight-story building houses over 200 first-year students and is co-ed by floor. Hines features two lounges, two laundry rooms, and a kitchenette, and each student room has WiFi. The campus police department is located in Hines and is staffed 24/7. A front desk attendant monitors access to the building at night.

Pouch Hall

Named for Helena Pouch, a long-time member of the Board of Trustees and friend of the college, Pouch Hall is a four-story building and houses approximately 120 female residents. Residents can be any class year, but most are first-year students. Pouch features a large kitchen area, lounge, and laundry room and each student room has WiFi. A front desk attendant monitors access to the building at night.

Magna Hall

Magna Hall was named in honor of Edith Scott Magna, acting president for the college in 1946 and a college trustee for over thirty years. It’s a four-story building that houses 140 residents, primarily sophomores. Magna is co-ed by floor and features a kitchen area, lounge and laundry room, and each student room has WiFi. A front desk attendant monitors access to the building at night.

Edgewood Gardens Residence Halls

Acorn Heights

Completed in 2008, Acorn Heights is our newest residence facility and houses residents who are 21+ or will be turning 21 by the first day of the spring semester. Students must demonstrate academic success and maturity. Most units house six students in a three-bedroom townhouse that features a full kitchen (including appliances), two full bathrooms, a furnished living room, a deck for socializing, central air conditioning and WiFi.

Acorn townhouses can be single gender or co-ed.

Edgewood Complex

Edgewood Wing

The Edgewood apartments were completed in 2004. Each two-bedroom apartment houses four residents and features a common living area, kitchen sink with cabinets, a full bathroom and WiFi.

Edgewood apartments can be single gender or co-ed.

Broadhurst and Street Hall Wings

Some sophomores and most juniors are eligible to live in these wings of the complex. Street Hall features traditional double rooms similar to the main campus. Broadhurst offers two-bedroom suites for three or four residents with a furnished common living area and bathroom. All rooms have WiFi.

Broadhurst suites can be single gender or co-ed.
