Guaranteed Admissions Program

As a part of the College’s commitment to access and opportunity, students applying to AIC as first-time, full-time freshmen will be guaranteed admission if they are in good standing at their secondary institution and have fulfilled the following criteria from a regionally accredited high school within the United States or in a United States territory:

  • The student has an overall unweighted cumulative GPA of 2.0 AND all core requirements have been completed, receiving a minimum grade of a C or higher in each core course.
  • Students seeking to enroll in a health science program, must meet the following criteria for acceptance:
    • Nursing: students must have an overall unweighted cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher, completion of high school or college lab chemistry with a C+ or higher, AND completion of all core requirements, receiving a minimum grade of a C (2.0) or higher in each course.
    • Exercise Science: students must have an overall unweighted cumulative GPA of 2.7 or higher AND completion of all core requirements with a C+ or higher.
    • Occupational Therapy: students must have an overall unweighted cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher AND completion of all core requirements with a C+ or higher.
    • Physical Therapy: students must have an overall unweighted cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher AND completion of all core requirements with a C+ or higher.

Core Requirements

Applicants are expected to have completed a traditional college preparatory program at a regional accredited high school, with a minimum of 15 academic courses including the following:

  • English: 4 Years
  • Mathematics: 3 years (usually Algebra 1 & 2 and Geometry)
  • Science: 2 years (Chemistry with Lab for Nursing)
  • Social Studies/History: 2 years
  • Foreign Language: 2 years (at least one year is required, two years recommended)

Students may have additional requirements if they have coursework from outside the United States, if they qualify as a transfer student, if they have disciplinary or conduct item noted on their file or if English is a second language.

Prospective students who do not meet guidelines stated above may still be admissible to AIC and will be reviewed using the standard holistic review process as defined in the Undergraduate College Catalog.
