Veterans Admissions to American International College

AIC is a member of the Servicemembers Opportunity Colleges (SOC) Consortium of approximately 1,900 colleges and universities nationwide. SOC Consortium members ensure that quality academic programs are available to servicemembers of all branches of the U.S. military, including the National Guard and Coast Guard, reservists, and all veterans and their family members.

We are proud to have been designated a military-friendly school by G.I. Jobs magazines.

Military Education Transcripts & Credits

At AIC we review your military academic record, including the classes you took and the grades you earned, in order to get an accurate picture of who you are and what you would like to accomplish. Following your acceptance, we’ll conduct a credit evaluation to identify the courses and credits that will transfer into your program.

Please request your official military education transcript and have it sent to:

AIC Registrar’s Office

1000 State Street

Springfield, MA 01109

Transfer Credits for Military Experience

AIC recognizes the value of the many educational and leadership experiences that occur in the Armed Forces, and the excellent foundation that military experience provides. So we give veteran students transfer credits for service in the U.S. Army, Air Force, Navy, Marines, and Coast Guard.

With our comprehensive transfer credit policy, you’ll get a head start on earning your degree at AIC. Request a no-cost evaluation of your prior college, military training, advanced placement programs, assessment of prior learning, portfolios, work related exams, and college level examination program credits.

If you do not already have copies of your military transcripts, request them here:

DSST and CLEP Credits

Through the DANTES Subject Standardized Test (DSST) and the College Level Examination Program (CLEP) exams, you can translate military, work, and cultural experience into college credits. Sponsored by the Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support (DANTES) and the College Board, these exams provide servicemembers the opportunity to earn credits toward general education requirements at college.

AIC can review your courses that map to DANTES credits and CLEP exams. Courses for which you can test out through DANTES or CLEP may include introductory history, economics, psychology, chemistry, math, sociology, computer technology, physical sciences, and English.
