Kristen Hutchison ’02, MBA ’04

Kristen Hutchison

For alumni who haven’t met you yet, can you share a bit about your background and what brought you to AIC?

I graduated from AIC with a degree in Business Management in 2002 and went on to earn my MBA in 2004. During my time as a student, I played three sports—basketball, soccer, and softball. I later returned to campus as the assistant women’s basketball coach for four years before being named Head Coach in 2007. I am, and always will be, a proud Yellow Jacket.

What’s your coaching philosophy, and how do you hope it shows up on the court?

My coaching philosophy centers on defending and rebounding. We aim to make it difficult for our opponents to score, while playing an up-tempo style that prioritizes pace and creates opportunities to take high-quality three-point shots.

What are your goals for the team this season—on and off the court?

Our goals are to excel on the court, in the classroom, and in the community, serving as positive role models in all we do.

What can fans expect from the Yellow Jackets this fall? Any players or matchups you're especially excited about?

We have a very strong team this season with 10 returners and 3 newcomers, and we’re off to a great start at 6–2. We expect to be highly competitive within the Northeast-10 Conference and look forward to contending for a championship.

How can alumni stay connected and support the AIC Volleyball programs this year?

We welcome all alumni and fans to attend a game and show their support for the Yellow Jackets. Having alumni in the stands truly motivates our team. You can also follow us on social media and visit our website for scores, player highlights, events, and more.
