Apply to Graduate School at AIC

The Whole You

As you begin the process of applying to graduate programs, we’d like you to know a few things about the way we approach admitting students to AIC.

First, while our graduate programs are very selective, we don’t place blind trust in numbers. Yes your GPA is important, but we know it can’t tell the story of a whole person. That’s why we take the time to get to know as much about you as possible.

The Office of Admissions starts its initial review by considering your personal statement, your letters of recommendation and all the supporting documents you submit. We get to know your history- where you’ve worked, what unique life experiences you have under your belt, and any other factors that have helped you prepare for a successful graduate school journey.

After this preliminary review, your application is forwarded to the department chair of the program you’d like to join. There, a committee of experienced faculty will further explore your qualifications until they feel certain of your chances for success with us.

The process can be daunting, but we don’t want it to be. That’s why we make our admissions process as transparent and helpful as possible. Give us a call today, and we will help guide you through the application process.
