The Veterans’ Alumni Committee of AIC will host an informational presentation on the role of the United States military in current world conflicts and how this may affect young women and men in both high school and college. The presentation will highlight topics that include the current status of the U.S. military armed forces; changes to the military through the years, especially in the role of women; the draft versus volunteer call-to-duty; and career opportunities offered through military service after graduation. Keynote speaker for the event is Colonel Adele Hill. Colonel Hill retired in 2016 after 32 years in the Air Force Reserve. As the individual mobilization augmentee to the chief nurse and vice commander of the 79th Medical Wing, Air Force District of Washington, she contributed to the Medical Health/Service High Reliability Organization’s vision for trusted care across the services. Prior to this assignment, Colonel Hill was commander of the 439th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron at Westover Air Force Base. She holds a doctorate in philosophy of nursing and a master’s degree in communication and information management.
