Biography

Peiluen Kuo, MOT, OTR/L received her Master of Occupational Therapy from Quinnipiac University in 2016. She maintains her clinical experience in acute care with a special interest in the cardiothoracic/cardiology population including but not limited to: heart transplants, open heart surgeries, congestive heart failure, and individuals with left ventricular assist devices considering pre and post implantation and the impact on their occupational participation.

She has spent most of her practice with adults, but also has experience in pediatric acute care. Peiluen has extensive experience in clinical education in terms of program development, student coordination, and hosting many OT and interprofessional students throughout her clinical career.

Peiluen’s further areas of interest are scattered across the continuum and age ranges regarding participation, public health, injury prevention, and health and wellness. She has taken part in Safe Kids community events including car seat fittings, Halloween Safety, Fire Safety, and more. She has had a long-standing admiration for child development including the adolescent transitioning to young adult population. Peiluen is active in and working toward understanding more about diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging initiatives. Her current research is exploring OT practice and transition to motherhood.

Peiluen is looking forward to supporting students at AIC to gain fruitful clinical experiences to prepare them for the student to practitioner transition. Her hope is to transform the challenges faced in an ever changing and diverse practice into inspiration and motivation to see the world beyond the classrooms and themselves to build character, confidence, and empathy.
