Campus Visitation Policy

Campus Visitation Policy

AIC seeks to provide a safe campus environment for all campus community members and visitors. Off campus visitors migrate to AIC for a variety of reasons and all play an important role in the daily operations at the College. Due to increased health risks related to COVID-19, the College has greatly limited the college visitation policy.

AIC understands the importance of campus visitation and will implement a phased plan to bring visitors back to campus. Doing so will help to ensure the safety for all campus community members.

Visitor Definition

Visitor Definition

For the purpose of this policy, the term “visitor” refers to anyone who is not a currently enrolled AIC student or an employee.

AIC does not permit the visitation of minors for non-college related business purposes without the presence of a parent or guardian.

Visitor Health and Safety Protocols

The AIC community believes that students need the backing of family, friends and other support networks to guide them while on their educational journey. We encourage students to maintain communication with all support networks while enrolled at AIC. However, during initial stages of the College’s reopening plan, we request that all campus visitation be limited.

Visitors of AIC students shall be required to check in with Campus Police upon arrival and departure from campus. Visitors must identify the student with whom they are meeting and the location of their visit.

As visitors are not permitted in residence halls initially, all visitations must take place in designated areas. Open areas for visitation will include the campus quad, outdoor seating areas, and common areas as described in the College Reopening Plan. Guest policy will be reviewed regularly and updated as milestones in key indicators are reached.

Physical distancing protocols and health and safety guidelines must be followed with all visitors to campus.

Residence Hall Visitors

Residence Hall Visitors

With the exception of the assigned move-in window, residential students will not be permitted to have guests in their residence hall for at least the first three weeks of classes. This includes non-AIC visitors as well as AIC students that do not live in their assigned residence hall. Guest policy will be reviewed regularly and updated as milestones in key indicators are reached.
