Campus Visitation Policy

Updated October 22, 2020

Campus Visitation Policy

AIC seeks to provide a safe campus environment for all campus community members and visitors. Off campus visitors migrate to AIC for a variety of reasons and all play an important role in the daily operations at the College. Due to increased health risks related to COVID-19, the College has greatly limited the college visitation policy.

AIC understands the importance of campus visitation and will implement a phased plan to bring visitors back to campus. Doing so will help to ensure the safety for all campus community members.

Massachusetts Travel Order

AIC is following all travel visitor guidelines put in place by the State of Massachusetts. Massachusetts has implemented a TRAVEL ORDER that requires travelers to MA from HIGH RISK STATES, Massachusetts residents returning from out of state travel and international travelers to complete the Massachusetts Travel Form. Additionally, visitors will need to have either have a negative result from an FDA EUA-approved molecular (PCR) SARS-CoV2 test, on a sample obtained 72 hours or less prior to arrival in Massachusetts or quarantine for 14 days.

Please be advised quarantine confirmation and/or negative testing documentation (within 72 hours) will be required for all out of state guests coming from high risk areas and/or guests who have recently visited high risk areas.

Visitor Definition

Visitor Definition

For the purpose of this policy, the term “visitor” refers to anyone who is not a currently enrolled AIC student or an employee.

AIC does not permit the visitation of minors for non-college related business purposes without the presence of a parent or guardian.

Visitor Health and Safety Protocols

Visitor Health and Safety Protocols

AIC visitors are required to wear face coverings (covering nose and mouth) and observe physical distancing while on campus. Everyone must wear a mask at all times while inside any AIC facility, and also while outside when social distancing cannot be guaranteed.

Visitors will be expected to bring their own mask; however, masks will be provided should a visitor forget their own.

All visitors to campus, regardless of reason or length of visit, may be required to complete a health screening survey 24 hours prior to arrival. All screenings will be confirmed upon arrival to campus. This is in accordance with CDC recommendations. Visitors who self-identify symptoms associated with COVID-19 or who have had close contact to a known or suspected COVID-19 case will not be permitted on campus until 14 days from the last symptom or known exposure.

Please be advised quarantine confirmation and/or negative testing documentation (within 72 hours) may be required for all out of state guests. Please visit the Massachusetts Travel Order guide in this document for further information

Residence Hall Visitors

Residence Hall Visitors

Residential students are currently not permitted to have guests in their residence hall. This includes non-AIC visitors as well as AIC students that do not live in their assigned residence hall. Guest policy will be reviewed regularly and updated as milestones in key indicators are reached.

Student Visitors in Non-Residential Facilities

Student Visitors in Non-Residential Facilities

The AIC community believes that students need the backing of family, friends and other support networks to guide them while on their educational journey. We encourage students to maintain communication with all support networks while enrolled at AIC. However, we request that all campus visitation be limited.

Visitors of AIC students shall be required to check in with Campus Police upon arrival and departure from campus. Visitors must identify the student with whom they are meeting and the location of their visit.

As visitors are not permitted in residence halls initially, all visitations must take place in designated areas. Open areas for visitation will include the campus quad, outdoor seating areas, and common areas as described in the College Reopening Plan. Guest policy will be reviewed regularly and updated as milestones in key indicators are reached.

Physical distancing protocols and health and safety guidelines must be followed with all visitors to campus.
