AIC Yellow Jackets Baseball

Building a Field, Tradition, and a Team

As the holiday season approaches the AIC Yellow Jackets Baseball team wishes health and happiness to you and your family as it is the most wonderful time of the year…to some!

We prefer the start of our traditional season and our annual spring trip to Florida. But before that takes place, it is important to spend some time thinking about the things we are most thankful for. Easily at the top of our list are all the friends, family, and alumni that make our student-athlete experience the best it can be.

To donate, please complete the form at the bottom of this page.

Spring Training

Traditionally, to begin every season, we fly down to the West Palm Beach/Fort Lauderdale/Boca Raton area and play an intense schedule comprised of schools from the Sunshine State Conference and other Northeast region schools making their southern trip. While we are down there, we not only play a demanding schedule of 11 games in 8 days, but we plan team, family, and alumni activities. Team dinners at Talia’s, laser tag, games at the beach, and alumni receptions are just a few examples of how we spend our time together off the field.

On average, the total trip costs between $40,000 and $45,000. From this total, each player is required to pay $1,200. In order to make this trip a reality each year, we rely on the support of our family, friends, and fans. As you begin your new year, we hope you will also help us begin our season by supporting a player reach their $1,200 goal. This amount helps to cover the cost of airline tickets, hotel rooms, meals, buses, vans, field rentals, umpires, equipment, team activities, and other miscellaneous expenses. When you donate, no matter how much, know that you’re helping to pay for one or two of those items. Your donation is critical and will have a major impact on our team and the 2019 season.

An Upgraded Facilities

When we return from our trip, we will be starting our season on an upgraded field that is in the best condition our players have ever seen. These upgrades are so important to keep AIC in the race to be a top Division II baseball program. Most recently, Sports Turf Specialties completely renovated the dirt portion of the infield, the baselines, and home plate, and rebuilt the mound. This is the same company that works on multiple major league fields. We will continue to put fundraising efforts toward future upgrades that could soon include dugouts, backstop and netting, and bleachers.

Donation Impact

The many improvements have allowed us to expand our recruiting opportunities and player talent. Last season, we recorded wins over nationally-ranked LeMoyne (15), New Haven (6), and College World Series participant Southern New Hampshire. With 95% of the team returning and our strongest incoming freshman class, we have expectations to win our side of the NE-10 conference.

None of this is possible without the generous support our friends, family, and alumni. Please consider showing your higher dedication to AIC Baseball by being one of the reasons all of this is possible. Whether it is helping to send a player to Florida or helping us continue to improve our field, your donation, no matter the size, can change our program. We can’t do this without you. Please feel reach out to Coach Nick Callini (contact information below) for more information about our spring trip, field improvements, or how you can leave your mark on the AIC Yellow Jackets field. Thank you in advance for your support! See you in the stands!

Many Thanks,

The AIC Baseball Players and Staff
