Students at the 2019 AIC Commencement
American International College alumna Denise R. Jordan ’00, HON 19, spread joy and wisdom as she delivered the undergraduate Commencement address at AIC’s 134th graduation held on May 11, 2019, at the MassMutual Center. Jordan, the executive director of the Springfield Housing Authority and former chief of staff for Mayor Domenic Sarno, captivated the graduates and the thousands of family members and friends in attendance, who had turned out for the festivities. Jordan was also conferred with an honorary Doctor of Laws degree at the ceremony in recognition of her considerable career and civic accomplishments.

Ketirah Felder-Hogan was recognized as the class of 2019’s valedictorian while Ryan Polin was the salutatorian. Andrew Bernucca was the student speaker and Taylor Campos sang The National Anthem.

Spanning two ceremonies, more than 1,000 candidates for bachelors, masters, and doctoral degrees were celebrated.
AIC’s Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs Mika Nash, EdD, addressed those students receiving their masters and doctoral degrees in the second graduation ceremony of the day.
