REX’S PANTRY GROWS: AIC LAUNCHES COLLEGE GARDEN INITIATIVE
Rex’s Pantry continues to grow as a locally respected American International College community service initiative that was founded in December 2017 in an effort to assist the community’s less fortunate with hot meal service, canned food, and other living necessities. Volunteers for the initiative include AIC students, student athletes, faculty and staff.
Beginning in late spring 2019, AIC will plant the Rex’s Pantry Garden to be located on the corner of State and Maynard Streets. This effort will provide fresh produce to area residents in need. Once again, AIC volunteers will participate by maintaining the garden throughout the summer and into fall.
“The Rex’s Pantry Garden will continue AIC’s commitment to being a good neighbor to the residents of Mason Square and assisting those in need in Springfield,” said AIC Vice President for Marketing and Communications and founder of Rex’s Pantry Robert Cole.”
