AIC JOINS IMMIGRATION-FOCUSED ALLIANCE: AIC has joined the Presidents’ Alliance on Higher Education and Immigration, which is a group of “American college and university leaders dedicated to increasing public understanding of how immigration policies and practices impact our students, campuses, and communities.” This alliance has three goals central to its mission:

  1. Educate the public and policymakers about the value and contributions of international and immigrant students and scholars to higher education, communities, and the nation.
  2. Improve how colleges support international and immigrant students on our campuses, including by sharing best practices with other institutions.
  3. Support the consideration and adoption of federal immigration policies and practices, as well as relevant state policies, that honor the alliance’s values and commitments as educational institutions and press for re-examination of those that do not.

AIC is excited about the relationships the College will make while contributing to the alliance’s efforts in fulfilling its goals.

On Wednesday, November 2, AIC joined other institutions of higher education around the country to call on Congress to pass bipartisan Dream Act legislation this year. The College invited followers on social media to help by writing to legislators and advocating for DACA recipients’ protection in support of AIC’s mission to provide access to education for all.
