Helping fight hunger in western Massachusetts has earned national accolades for the American International College baseball team. Community service has earned the team finalist recognition from the NCAA for its “Homerun for the Hungry” food drive to benefit Lorraine’s Soup Kitchen & Pantry in Chicopee. It has been a community service mainstay for the players for four years. Due to COVID-19, the annual event had to be postponed this December, but the team will undoubtedly be back swinging next year. Read all about the team’s efforts in an interview with Head Coach Nick Callini on WWLP-22News.

Now that’s hitting it out of the park!
