According to the New York Times, “The world’s best female duckpin bowler lives in the Berkshires, where duckpin bowling is neither played nor followed. If she wants to bowl, she must drive two hours to an alley in Connecticut, where bowlers sometimes ask her for shared selfies and autographs.”

Who is the world’s best female duckpin bowler? It’s Amy Bisson Sykes who happens to be an AIC alum! Amy played softball while attending the College, graduated with a degree in elementary education, and faster than you can say “Line ‘em up!” joined the professional duckpin tour.

Amy is enjoying stardom on the road and receiving kudos for her love of a nearly forgotten sport that began in the 1890s. The New York Times, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, and the Dayton Daily News are just a few of the prominent papers that have picked up her story.
