The partnership has been formed, and now the work to implement a cooperation agreement signed in November 2022 between American International College (AIC) and Catholic University in El Salvador (UNICAES) is underway in earnest.

In support of AIC’s strategic initiative of strengthening the College’s international presence, President Hubert Benitez, DDS PhD, recently visited UNICAES to formally begin the execution of its international agreement with the Salvadorian university.

“The Catholic University of El Salvador is a comprehensive institution that has a mission that fully aligns with AIC’s mission and vision of creating opportunities for faculty and students,” said President Benitez. “We will be exploring the implementation of student and faculty exchange, research, joint degree programs, and creating pathways for both AIC and Catholic University students to engage in cultural and academic experiences,” he concluded.

UNICAES General Vice-President Dr. Moises Martinez added, “The academic alliance between AIC and the Catholic University of El Salvador will strengthen the academic quality of our institution and will create important opportunities for our institutions, especially for our students and the people of El Salvador.”

Established in 1982, UNICAES is considered one of the most notable universities in El Salvador and consistently appears in the Latin America University Rankings as one of the top institutions in the region. The public university has a strong presence in STEM, engineering, and architecture, as well as the health sciences, with medical and nursing schools.

The partnership between AIC and UNICAES is one of four international cooperation agreements signed by AIC since October 2022. The others are with Universidad Andres Bello Santiago de Chile (UNAB), St. Paul University in the Philippines (SPUP), and most recently, Badr University (BUC) in Cairo, Egypt.
