The Atlantic Hockey Association honored four collegiate players this week, two of the group from AIC!

Junior Austin Orszulak has been named Player of the Week. Austin turned in a four point weekend to lead AIC to a sweep of Army West Point, giving the Yellow Jackets their first home sweep in six seasons.

Austin netted the game-winning goal in overtime on Friday night before adding three more power-play points during a 3-2 overtime victory Saturday. Orszulak scored the first goal for AIC and assisted on the winning tally. He leads the team with seven goals and seven assists for 14 points this season.

Freshman Trevor Cope was named Rookie of the Week. Trevor returned from an injury earlier this month and was only playing in his third and fourth games of the season when he registered the first two goals of his collegiate career and added an assist for a three-point weekend.

This marks the first major weekly honor for each player. Austin and Trevor were both key factors in AIC’s sweep of Army West Point.

Sweet sweep!
