The Art of Caring

Artwork for the homeless

AIC student artists raise more than $1,000 to benefit Friends of the Homeless

Artwork created by American International College students raised a total of $1,025 at a recent event and art auction to benefit Friends of the Homeless in Springfield. Friends of the Homeless provides emergency housing, meals and food, works to find permanent housing for shelter guests, operates 100 units of low-income housing, and offers a resource center for people in need.

How far does $1,025 go? A long way! It provides more than 500 meals to fill empty stomachs or shelter for 28 people who have nowhere to call home.

AIC students in Professor John Nordell’s visual and digital arts class contributed their “Impressions of Home” original artwork to help support the Friends of the Homeless second annual event.
