When the Governor Calls

Professor of Criminal Justice Jill McCarthy Payne, M.Ed., J.D., has been appointed by Governor Charlie Baker to a two year term on the Gaming Policy Advisory Committee, a subcommittee of the Massachusetts Gaming Commission.

The committee advises the MA Gaming Commission on matters including annual resource agenda, public safety, addiction as it relates to gambling, mitigation and other issues.

Professor Payne was selected by Governor Baker because of her previous involvement with the casino project in Springfield. Professor Payne previously served on Mayor Domenic Sarno’s five member casino review committee which helped select MGM as the casino of choice for Springfield.
